Dr. Chris Fowler is a clinical health psychologist with research interests in understanding of ways to improve Veteran access to non-pharmacological treatments, e.g., psychotherapy, physical therapy, acupuncture, and associated health outcomes for Veterans living with chronic pain conditions.  He is also interested in developing the first measure of self-stigma for a chronic pain population.  Dr. Fowler developed these interests over several years of providing psychological interventions for chronic pain management in specialized pain clinic and primary care settings.  Previously, Dr. Fowler conducted research on predictors of personal recovery and independent functioning tasks among people schizophrenia-spectrum disorders and other forms of serious mental illness.
